Compliments, Comments and Complaints.......

At Stoke Goldington Church of England First School we  want all pupils and their families to be happy with the education they receive at our school. We welcome feedback and your comments, either positive or negative, are helpful for future planning and improvement. A 'comments box' is located in the entrance area should parents wish to make a comment confidentially. 

However, you may want to talk to us about a particular aspect of the school that you are worried about or you may be unhappy about the way in which a member of staff has dealt with your child. Most queries or concerns can be resolved satisfactorily through calm discussion or by providing clarification or further information. Parents or carers share day to day concerns about particular aspects of school life through informal conversations with staff. 

Usually, we can deal with any problems informally, but unfortunately, this is not always possible and you may wish to make a complaint. When a more serious concern is raised, the school has adopted a procedure that explains how to complain and what to expect in response. 

Whatever the issue, please come and talk to us so that probelems can be rectified. We operate an 'open door' policy so please do not hesitate to contact a member of staff or the Headteacher if you have any questions or concerns.

Making a Complaint.....

A complaint about a school should be addressed directly to the particular school it is about in the first instance. In the event that you are not satisfied with the school’s response to the complaint you may appeal to the school's Chair of Governors.

In the event that you are not satisfied with the Chair of Governor’s response, you may ask the governing body to review it. This request would need to be made in writing within fourteen days of the Chair’s response to you. The governing body’s complaints committee will meet within twenty one days of receipt of the request to review the details of the complaint and the evidence provided. The chair of the committee will send you a letter within five days of the meeting notifying you of the outcome of the review.
